Juno is the roman goddess counterpart of Jupiter. A stately being and regal beauty she was queen of the gods.  She represents female fertility and birth. Protector of all things devine female. Individualised, Juno became a female guardian angel and therefore embodied the female principle of life. 

Juno’s sacred bird was the peacock. Peacocks symbology flows deep in most cultures but is often associated with luxury, protection, pride, versatility, renewal, awareness, and metamorphosis.

If a peacock crosses your path it is said you’re going to get good luck in the form of new wealth. In Sri Lanka peacock feathers were used to cure snake bites and heal broken bones.

In Buddhism the feathers fanned symbolised openness and purity.

In the painting Juno is starring at the viewer. Holding them in her gaze. She is saying ‘I believe in you’ welcoming a defiant metamorphosis of the self, a willingness to be brave, take new paths and open up to abundance.
