Dubby (Dr Suzette Blight) was one of Australia’s first female doctors. Her knowledge, age and wisdom seeps through her cheeky playful nature.
 
As we were talking her pearls sparkled similarly to the glint in her eyes. The glint of a life well lived.
 
I painted her with hues of purple, I wanted to reflect the shimmer of her shirt into the folds of her skin.
